Terms of Service
A+ Bookkeeping Effective 1 October 2026 · Last updated 1 October 2026
These terms apply when you use our online services — our website forms, booking pages, and the secure links we send you to view proposals, sign engagement letters, exchange documents and pay invoices.
By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please contact us and we will work with you another way; nothing here forces you to use the online pages.
What these terms do and do not cover
These terms cover the online pages only.
Our bookkeeping, payroll and compliance services are governed by your engagement letter, not by this document. Your engagement letter sets out the work we do, what it costs, what we each need to provide, and how either of us can end the arrangement. If anything here conflicts with your engagement letter, the engagement letter wins.
Who may use these services
You must be at least 18 and have authority to act for the business you represent. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
Secure links and access
We send you private links to view and sign documents. Please treat them as confidential:
- Anyone with the link can see what it points to, so do not forward or post it
- Links expire; tell us if you need a fresh one
- Tell us promptly if you think a link has been seen by someone who should not have it
Where we give staff or clients a named sign-in, keep your credentials to yourself and tell us about any suspected unauthorised use.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Try to access information that is not yours, or probe or interfere with our systems
- Submit anything unlawful, misleading, or containing malicious code
- Use our forms to send bulk or unsolicited messages
- Copy or resell our materials, templates or pricing information
- Misrepresent who you are or who you act for
We may suspend access to the online pages if they are being misused. That is separate from suspending services, which follows your engagement letter.
Electronic documents and signatures
You agree that we may deliver proposals, engagement letters, invoices and notices to you electronically, and that documents you sign electronically through our pages are as binding as signing on paper, consistent with Alberta’s Electronic Transactions Act.
When you sign electronically we record evidence of that signature — including when it happened and the details needed to show the signature is genuine. We retain that evidence for 10 years, because it is what makes the agreement enforceable. Our Privacy Policy explains this.
You may ask for a paper process instead at any time.
Accuracy of what you give us
Our work depends on the information you provide. You agree that what you give us is accurate and complete so far as you know, and that you will tell us promptly if something changes — particularly registration numbers, fiscal dates and filing obligations, where an error can cause a missed deadline.
Invoices and payment
Invoices are issued through QuickBooks Online. If you pay online, your card or bank details are entered directly with Intuit’s payment service and never pass through our systems.
Payment terms, late accounts and any suspension of work for non-payment are set by your engagement letter. Where our system flags an overdue account, a person reviews it before anything happens, and any notice tells you the invoice, the amount and how to resolve it. Work that falls inside a statutory filing deadline is not suspended.
Our materials
Our website, pages, templates, proposals and written materials belong to us or our licensors. You may use documents we produce for you for your own business purposes. Please do not republish or resell our templates or materials.
Documents and records you give us remain yours.
Availability
We aim to keep the online pages available, but they may be unavailable for maintenance, or for reasons outside our control such as an outage at one of the services we rely on. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of the online pages.
This says nothing about the quality of our professional work. Availability of a web page and the standard of care we owe you as your bookkeeper are separate things, and nothing in this section affects the latter.
If an online page is unavailable when you need it, contact us and we will deal with it directly — by email, by phone, or on paper.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for the professional services we provide to you. Those are governed by your engagement letter and by the professional standards we are held to, and we do not seek to reduce them here.
These terms cover the online pages. For those pages specifically, we are not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for indirect or consequential losses arising from a page being unavailable — because there is always another way to reach us.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, where it is stored, who we share it with — including information processed outside Canada by Intuit — and your rights. It forms part of these terms.
Third-party services
Our pages rely on services provided by others, including Google and Intuit. Their own terms govern your direct dealings with them, such as paying an invoice through Intuit’s payment service.
Ending access
You can stop using the online pages at any time; your engagement letter governs ending our services. We may withdraw access to the online pages if these terms are breached, or if we stop offering them — in which case we will arrange another way to work with you.
Ending access does not affect documents already signed, invoices already issued, or records we are required to keep.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when. Where a change matters to you, we will tell you. Using the pages after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the Alberta courts have jurisdiction.
If something goes wrong, please raise it with us first. We would rather resolve it directly than formally.
